Why women should care about the Chicago Auto Show
Admittedly, I’m rare among female friends for an interest in automobiles. I love the sleek looks and speed. But, I’m not the only one who feels this way, as last year, 46% of the attendees to the Chicago Auto Show were female, according to Foresight Research.
“Women buy or influence 85 percent of all vehicle purchases and hold the keys to $450 billion in spending each year, yet the biggest challenge is educating them as consumers and users of new technology,” said Scotty Reiss, founder of A Girls Guide to Cars. “The most powerful way to change this is by engaging them as employees, leaders and innovators.”
This year brings craft beer nights, more sleek cars and the annual “What Drives Her” day of events. Tickets are just $7 on that day, but there are plenty of other discount days. The Chicago Auto Show officially starts February 9 and runs through February 18.
