Delicious chocolate-covered pretzels for any occasion
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner — and you know, the best gifts are handmade. They’re always chocolate.
These chocolate-covered pretzels are quite easy to make, taking perhaps 20 minutes. They’ll take a bit longer to set; if you can wait 24 hours, great! If not, don’t be surprised if you have to make another batch…
1-12 oz. package of milk chocolate chips
1-12 oz. package of white chocolate chips
1-bag pretzel twists [or whatever your favorite is!]
Wax paper
Place the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chips into separate bowls. Microwave the milk chocolate chips on high for 1 minute. Stir. If the chips haven’t melted after stirring, give them another 15 seconds and re-stir.
Drop a few pretzels into the milk chocolate; I find it’s easiest to retrieve them with salad tongs. Place the finished pretzel on wax paper, as this is easiest to remove them from without hurting the pretzel.
At this point, I microwave the white chocolate chips as above, for 1 minute, stirring afterward. Add 15 seconds if they aren’t melted enough. Drizzle on pretzels, or place the white chocolate on the bottom of a spoon, shaking it back and forth over the pretzels, giving it more of a handmade touch. Keep in mind this can get messy, so don’t get crazy unless you like finding random drips of chocolate to clean up!
Repeat for the rest of the pretzels. As I noted above, it’s best if these get 24 hours to set, but you may find they’re quite delicious after a few minutes. Just not as presentable!
You can cover any leftover chocolate with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Think about alternatives to personalize your pretzels:
- Swap the milk chocolate and the white chocolate.
- Use food dye in your white chocolate.
- Drop on sprinkles or tiny candy hearts, like those for cupcakes.
Go wild! And be sure to make an extra batch, these are hard to resist!

I love this recipe, and shared on my FB.
